ACC arrests ICB Islami Bank GM over embezzlement of Tk 18.5 m

The Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested ICB Islami Bank General Manager Humayun Kabir on charges of embezzling around Tk 18.5 million, reports   ACC Deputy Director Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said Kabir was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly misappropriating funds when the bank functioned as Oriental Bank in 2005.Ashfaqul Hakim is a former executive of the bank’s Karwan Bazar branch. ECNEC approves 5 dev projects worth Tk 700cr  Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved five development projects worth of over Tk 700-crore.
