Writ seeks directive to stop firing on students during agitation

Two Supreme Court lawyers on Monday filed a writ with the High Court seeking directive for authorities to stop firing on students during agitation.

Lawyers Manzur Alam Motin Pritam and Ainunnahar Siddiqa Lipy submitted the writ petition with the HC bench of Justice Khurshid Alam Sarker this morning.

It also sought directives to release the six coordinators from the custody of the Detective Branch of police.
Secretaries of the cabinet and the home ministry, the inspector general of police, the chief of Bangladesh Amy and other relevant officials have been made respondents.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Discriminatory Students Movement announced a countrywide demonstration for Monday till their demands are met.
