Seven Land Ministry and its affiliated agency officials get Integrity awards

Seven public officials of the Ministry of Land and its affiliated agency received the National Integrity Award for the year 2023-24 in recognition of their ethical practices in the workplace.

Land Minister Narayon Chandra Chanda, as the chief guest, presented certificates and crests to the awardees during a function held on Tuesday at the Land Ministry’s meeting room in the Secretariat. The land minister also extended his congratulations to the recipients of the Integrity Award. Land Secretary Md Khalilur Rahman was present as the chair.

Chairman of Land Appeal Board AKM Shamimul Haque Siddique (currently working as Secretary of the Ministry of Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs), Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Land Md. Khalilur Rahman, Administrative Officer Md. Abdus Shukur, Administrative Officer Md. Saiful Islam, Office Assistant cum Computer Typist Zinnat Ara Jushi, Steno Typist cum Computer Operator Md. Abul Kalam Azad and Office Assistant Md. Elias Bhuiyan received the Integrity Award for the fiscal year 2023-24 in their respective categories.

Additional Secretaries of the Ministry of Land Md. Emdadul Haque Chowdhury, Saima Yunus, Ziauddin Ahmed and other officials of the Ministry of Land were present on the occasion.

Speaking at the award ceremony, the Land Minister said, we achieved our national liberation through a historic struggle under the leadership of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Our independence will be meaningful only if we ensure transparency and accountability in every sphere of the state. We must practice integrity, keeping in mind the welfare of the people of our country in all our work. Practicing integrity through self-realization is key to establishing good governance.

He emphasized that a smart government is one of the four pillars of building ‘Smart Bangladesh’ as envisioned by the Prime Minister. Ensuring integrity in the workplace is crucial to building a smart government.
