Report on murder case against Hasina, 22 others Sept 22

A Dhaka Court on Friday set September 22 to submit a probe report in a case filed against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 22 others over killing of a 26-year-old student Md Sifat Hossain amid student movement in Mirpur.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zaki-Al-Farabi set the date after accepting the FIR, reports BSS. Former ministers Obaidul Quader and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, former DB Chief Harun-ar Rashid, Additional Joint Commissioner Biplab Kumar, former DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman, several lawmakers including ex Manikganj-2 lawmaker S M Zahid, several Awami League leaders and unidentified persons were made as accused in the case.

Kamal Howlader, the father of deceased Sifat, filed a murder case on Thursday with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan’s court. On Friday (August 16), Mirpur Model Police Station registered the case.
According to the complaint of the case, on July 20, thousands of students were protesting in front of MS Power, 98 Senpara in Mirpur-10.

The police fired indiscriminately on that movement. At that time, Sifat Hossain was shot dead while crossing the road to a safe place. The bullet entered one side of his head and exited the other side.
