5 retired addl secretaries appointed as secretaries

Five retired additional secretaries have been reinstated and appointed as secretaries on a contractual basis, according to a notification of the Ministry of Public Administration on Saturday.

The notification said that they have been appointed on a two-year contract from the date of joining.

Of them, Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid has been made Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Department while Md Ehchanul Haque has been made Secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Department.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mohammad Abdul Momen has been appointed as Secretary of the Public Security Department under the Home Ministry, Dr. Nasimul Gani of the Public Department of the President’s Office and MA Akmal Hossain Azad as the Secretary of the Railway Ministry.

The interim government that took over after the fall of the Awami League government recently canceled the contractual appointments of these secretaries, according to the notification.
