Indian High Commissioner calls on Chief Adviser

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma on Thursday made a courtesy call on the interim government’s Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus and discussed issues of mutual interest.

The meeting was held at state guesthouse Jamuna at 4:00pm.

Earlier, a meeting of the advisors was held from the morning till the early afternoon. Prof Muhammad Yunus chaired the meeting. It was attended by Finance and Commerce Adviser Dr Saleh Uddin Ahmed, Planning and Education Adviser Dr Wahid Uddin Mahmud, Law and Parliament Adviser Asif Nazrul, Health and Family Welfare Adviser Noor Jahan Begum and other advisers.

Following the meeting, Environment, Forests and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan said Bangladesh will want to know the reasons behind the flood during the meeting with the Indian High Commissioner.

Rizwana said there is discussion in official channel to find ways for avoiding such flood in the future.
