Water levels at 24 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise, while 89 stations recorded fall.

Among the 116 monitored river stations, water levels at three stations have remained steady, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here today.

All the major rivers of the country are flowing below the danger level.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna river water level is decreasing whereas the Ganga-Padma river
water level is stable, which may continue for next 48 hours.

The water level of Teesta, Dharla and Dudhkumar rivers in the northern part of the country is receding, which may maintain normal flow for the next 48 hours.

The water level of the main rivers in the northeastern and eastern regions of the country is decreasing overall.

According to meteorological agencies, there is no possibility of heavy rainfall in the northeastern and eastern regions of the country and adjacent uplands in the next 48 hours. As a result, the water level of Surma, Kushiara, Manu, Khoai, Feni, Muhuri, Gomti, Titas etc. rivers in this region may decrease and may flow below the danger level.

The water level of major rivers in the south-eastern part of the country is decreasing overall.

According to information from meteorological agencies, heavy rainfall is not expected in the southeast and adjacent uplands of the country in the next 48 hours. At this time, the water level of Sangu, Matamuhuri, Karnaphuli, Halda and other major rivers in the region may decrease.
