Govt won’t allow wasting public money: Salehuddin

Science and Technology Affairs Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed today said the government will not allow wasting public money anymore.

“The government has urged the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to sanction US$3 billion financial assistance. Everyone should be aware so that this money is not misused. A lot of money was wasted in the past. Public money will no longer be allowed to be wasted,” he said.

The adviser said in a meeting with chiefs of different departments under the Ministry of Science and Technology at the ministry’s conference room in the city, said a press release.

Salehuddin said the use of science and technology in the country’s development is very important. “Development will not be meaningful if the output of scientific research is not useful,” he added.

He asked the officials to work for accelerating the country’s development.

Among others, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology Md Mokabbir Hossain attended the meeting.
