Rangpur DC meets martyrs families

Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur, Mohammad Rabiul Faisal, has assured the families of martyrs and injured people to get justice and cooperation from his side who have contributed a lot in the bloody uprising of anti-discrimination students’ movement. He made this promise while inquiring about the family of Martyr Merajul Islam Meraj in Jummapara of Rangpur city last Saturday.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Habibur Hasan Rumi, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Naeem Hasan Khan and others were with him at that time.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration will always stand by the sides of the families of the martyrs and the injured who have contributed a lot during the anti-discrimination students’ movement.

At the same time he also said that work will be done to ensure that they get speedy legal justice.

The district administration took the initiative to meet the family members of the martyrs and injured people to express their condolences. As part of this, the Deputy Commissioner met Martyr Merajul Islam’s mother Ambia Begum. Then he went to meet the family members of Martyr Abdullah Al Tahir, of Jummapara area, Martyr Sajjad Hossain, a vegetable seller of East Shalban area, Martyr Moslem Uddin Milon of Ganeshpur area and an auto driver of Tajhat police station area on Saturday,. The Deputy Commissioner also went to meet the family members of Martyr Manik Mia.

He inquired about the martyr’s family. Later, each family was given a grant of TK. 20,000 by the district administration. Earlier in the morning, he visited the graves of the martyrs and participated in prayers.

The new deputy commissioner said that his administration will work responsibly to eliminate discrimination in Bangladesh, which got its independence for the second time through a mass uprising of students’ movement.

He said that students, day laborers, people of various professions were martyred in July-August uprising. As a result, we got today’s new Bangladesh. We are meeting the families of the martyrs and exchanging greetings with them. The blood of martyrs will never be wasted. We will talk to the learned court so that the cases filed by the martyr’s family are handled properly. So far the list of 19 martyrs has been sent to Rangpur district. He said that the work of preparing the list of injured is going on. We will contact the injured who are hospitalized, or who have returned home after receiving treatment.
