The general students of Jagannath University (JnU) have formed a human chain protesting the remarks by two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders defaming Prophet Mohammed (PUBH).

After Friday’s prayer, the students marched around the entire campus from the ‘Kathal Tola’ of the university.

At the rally, the students demanded immediate state condemnation in protest of the insulting remarks made against the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

At that time, they said the two BJP leaders were hurting the hearts of millions of Muslims around the world by making derogatory remarks about the Prophet Muhammad (PUBH). They demand exemplary punishment of the two BJP leaders for their derogatory statements.

They also said, “Whether the product is boycotted or responded to through social media, we will continue our protest until the perpetrators are given exemplary punishment.”

It has to be mentioned that Nupur Sharma, a former spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), made controversial remarks about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) while appearing on a television show. Later, Naveen Jindal, media chief of the party’s New Delhi branch, tweeted in support of Nupur Sharma’s remarks. Many Muslim countries around the world have protested this.
