Free medical camp held in Baniachong

The Socialist Party of Bangladesh-Basad and Bangladesh Udichi Shilpi Gosthi have organized a free medical camp in Baniachang Upazila of flood-hit Habiganj.

The camp was held at Nazmul Hasan Jahed (former MP) Academy in Upazila Sadar on Tuesday.

Imdadul Hossain Khan, Member of National Assembly of Udichi and President of Baniachang Press Club presided over the inaugural function of the camp.

Dr. Pankaj Kanti Goswami (MBBS, BCS-Health), Assistant Professor, Habiganj Sheikh Hasina Medical College Hospital; Baniachang Upazila Branch Organizer Comrade Fakhruddin Khan Jabed, BNP Baniachang Upazila Branch Former Convener Lutfar Rahman, Udichi Baniachang Upazila Branch President Ripon Chandra Das, General Secretary Ritesh Kumar Vaishnav, Editorial Board Member Teacher Rubina Akter Ruby, Socialist Student Science University Science Front General Secretary Tanvir Rahman and others.

At the medical camp, Dr. Pankaj and Dr. Sushmita provided free medical care to about 300 patients and free medicine worth more than two lakh rupees was provided by BSD and Udichi. Social worker poet Syed Mizan Uddin Palash, village doctor Tapan Chowdhury, youth rights council leader Tauhid Hasan, Ahbab Hossain Jewel, BCL leader Yamin Khan, fire service worker Sabuj Dasgupta Shuvo, Udichi worker Nazira Akter Nieh, volunteered in the camp. , Sheikh Ariful Islam Riaz, Imdadul Haque Hridoy, Bashir Ahmed, Marjia Khanam Polly, Jhumara Akhter, Hena Akhter Polly, Halima Akhter, Khadija Akhter Ruba, Shahina Akhter, Antu Akhter, Ankhi Akhter, Murshed Amin, Hamidur Rahman Shishir, Mahf , Sayel Ahmed, Antar Ahmed, Al Ratul etc.

It may be mentioned that in the last 7 days, the leaders and activists of BSD and Udichi distributed food items and clothes among the Banavasi people of different unions of Baniachang upazila and organized a free medical camp at the upazila headquarters on Tuesday.

Journalist Imdadul Hossain Khan, chief coordinator of the Basad-Udichi Joint Relief Committee, said they would also organize free medical camps outside the upazila headquarters.

He also said that their food and clothing cooperation activities will continue till the flood situation returns to normal.
