Naik Shofi Ahmed of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Media and Community Service has been awarded the Precident Police Padak (PPM) for humanitarian policing in the service of humanity.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal handed over the medal to Naik Safi on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who participated virtually in the Police Week to be held at Rajarbagh on January 23 this year.

It is known that during the corona epidemic, the treatment of the sick, hospital transfer, distribution of relief materials provided in humanitarian policing activities under the general direction of SMP senior officers and financial welfare of people of different classes and professions of Sylhet metropolis are organized by Manabik Team Sylhet ‘Bir Hero and Manabik Team Sylhet’. Naik Safi Ahmed did various public welfare works including delivering relief and food items to the poor and helpless, providing plasma cells to corona patients, arranging free oxygen cylinders.
