Science Seminar of BHMA held
A science- based seminar on Role of Silicea medicine in Homeo treatment was held at the office of Bangladesh Homeopathic Medical Association in city on Thursday last with its President Dr. Md. Samiuddin in the chair. Chittagong district unit of BHMA organised the seminar .
Chief Advisor of BHMA, Chittagong district unit and Chief Editor of Homeo Chetona journal Principal Dr. Abdul Karim graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Principal of Dr. Zakir Hossain City Corporation. Homeopathic Medical College & Hospital Dr. Md. Nurul Amin was present in the seminar as principal speaker. General Secretary of BHMA, Chittagong unit Dr. Md. Shamsuddin delivered speech in it as special speaker. Member Secretary of Homeo Rights Preservation Committee Dr. Md. Ismail Siraji, Dr. Manto Kumar Shil, Dr. Md. Nurussafa, Lecturer Dr. Mohiuddin, Dr. Alauddin Bhunya, Dr. Samiran Chakraborty and Dr. Zahirul Islam graced the occasion as special guests. Dr. Promod Das Bablu presented the keynote paper over it. Among others, Dr. Chandi Charan Das, Dr. Zakir Hossain, Dr. SM Yousuf, Dr. Shahidul Islam also spoke in it duly moderated by Dr. Md. Ayyub. The speakers in the seminar emphasized the effectiveness of Silicea as a deep acting Psoric, Sycotic, Tubercular medicine which is of great use in constitutional rectificaton where and when applicable. The patients of this medicine become agitated easily at silly matters and they have lack of confidence. Asper tolity of symptoms if this medicine is selected and applied in appropriate power and doses strictly following the rules and regulations of Homoeopathy, what ever may be the name of disease, the patient will undoubtedly be cured perfectly.
3 drug traders arrested
Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP)) arrested three drug traders with 158 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets from Patenga sea beach area of Patenga thana in the city on Thursday night.
The arrestees were Abdur Rahman Khokon, 30, Shahiduddin,32 and Serijul Islam,26.
On receipt of secret information, a team of Patenga thana police conducted a raid at Patenga sea beach area of the police station at 11pm last night and arrested them with the contraband Yaba tablets while selling those at retail market. A case filed with Patenga thana in this connection.
90 held in special drives
Chittagong district police in a series of overnight drives arrested 90 people from different upazilas of the district on Friday night. Abdul Awal, Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) of Chittagong district, said police detained 90 people from different upazilas of the district for their alleged involvement in sabotage acts and vandalism.The detainees also include 83 persons under warrant of arrest and seven accused in regular cases, he said.
Police also recovered 16 pieces Yaba tablets, three liters of country made liquor and 150 grams hemp from Lohagara, Raozan and Fatikchhari upazila of the district.

40 illegal gas connections snapped
Mobile court of Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Ltd disconnected 40 illegal gas connection in Halishahar area under EPZ thana in city on Thursday. Executive Magistrate of district administration Tamim Al Yameen led the mobile court . Sources said these gas connection disconnected in Akmal Ali road of the EPZ thana area . KGDL spokesman Engr. Hasan Sohrab told this reporter that a organized syndicated developed a residential area by filling earth beside the canal(khal) where gas connections were given illegally. Sources said about 5 hundred gas connections given in the area by illegal way by some dishonest officials which will gradually be snapped immediately. The owner of the residential colony escaped from the spot sensing the presence of mobile court, sources said.
ACC to investigate police forgery over court notice
Anti- corruption commission, Chittagong chapter will investigate the forgery of a former Sub Inspector of Bandar thana , now assigned in Baizid thana under CMP for abuse of court notice under section CrPC 145. Chitagong Metropolitan Magistrate court sent the allegations to ACC, Chittagong after one year.
Court sources said one sufferer Noor Hossain filed a suit against the said police official for abusing the court notice(case No.39/2015) on March 4, 2015 before the CMM court . Asstt. Director of ACC, Chittagong and IO of the case Md. Moniruzzaman admitted the r eceipt of the court’s notice for investigating the allegations of Noor Hossain of Gosaildanga of Bandar thana and ACC has decided to launch investigations after primary scrutiny over the allegations, he added.
