Rangpur Correspondent

Normal import and export activities resumed today through the Hili Land Port (HLP) in Dinajpur after six-days of suspension on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, official sources said.

According to the sources in Customs, importers, clearing and forwarding agents association (C&FAA) at HLP, all sort of export-import activities remained suspended through the land port from July 27 to August 1.

General Secretary of C&FAA of HLP Abdur Rahman Litan told BSS this afternoon that all activities including imports, exports, customs clearance, loading and unloading of the goods resumed today.

“Twenty-four goods-laden trucks from India have already reached Bangladesh through the HLP from 12 noon to 4 pm today and the process continues,” Litan informed BSS at 4.05 pm.

However, movement of passport and visa holder Bangladeshi and Indian nationals remained normal through the Immigration Check Post at the HLP during the period despite closure of export-import activities, the sources said.
