Japanese experts conduct earthquake drill at Viqarunnisa School

A team of Japanese experts today conducted an earthquake preparedness training session for the students of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College at city’s Bailey Road to give an idea to the students how they should react during a massive tremor.

They trained the students with videos on major earthquakes and interactive demonstration.

The training session was conducted jointly by CNCRP project (Capacity Development of Natural Disaster Resistant techniques of Construction and Retrofitting for Public Buildings) under Public Works Department (PWD) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), said a press release.

The JICA expert team with support of the local non-government organization ‘The Earth’ will conduct a series of such trainings in other schools of the capital phase by phase.
