Saddam Hossain, who along with Neo JMB leader Nurul Islam Marzan, was killed in a ‘shootout’ with police this morning was a chief of the northern districts of the militant outfit, police said.
He was accused in ten cases, said Monirul Islam, chief of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
Among the cased, charge sheets of the five cased were submitted mentioning his name, Monirul said.
The charge sheeted cases are sensational murders of Hoshio Kunio in Rangpur, Rahamat Ali Khadem in Rangpur, Bahai Ruhur Amin of Rangpur, head of Debiganj Math in Panchgarh and Hosen Ali of Kurigram.
And, the other cases are, killings of doctor Dipti of Gaibandha, Rabbi of Shaghata in Gaibandha and Tarun Datta in Gobindaganj of Gaibandha, and attempt to murder of Karbala’s Khadem of Nilfamari and Doctor Birnodro of Chirirbandar in Dinajpur.
Saddam is hailing from Gaibandha, Monirul added.
