UITS provides quality education with low cost

University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) is the first IT- based private university in  Bangladesh.  From its very inception in 2003  it took the lead to make our country a digital one. Its name and fame   has crossed the frontiers to reach the most neglected continent, Africa also inviting a many male & female students from there. Alhaj Sufi Mohammed Mizanur Rahman, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of UITS and PHP Family recently talked to . Details the  interview is given below:

Q. What is the special feature of the  UITS as a private university in Bangladesh?Sufi

Mizanur Rahman: University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) as the first IT based private university of the country is now imparting world class higher education to more than nine thousand (9,000) students from eleven (11) departments under three schools. The special feature of our university is emphasizing on standard and quality education with low cost but high morality of the learners. We have special favor for the brilliant and poor students

Q.. You said that the UITS is providing quality education with low tuition fees. Now let us know what other facilities the students of UITS enjoy?

Sufi Mizan:  Our university authority offers special opportunities to our students who obtain GPA 5 in both SSC and HSC examination. Moreover,  students from deprived areas of the country and freedom fighters families get scholarships regularly. Besides, there are many standard laboratories for the science and engineering programs and a big and rich modern library in the campus, an opportunity of evening education for the B.Sc. Civil Engineering programme for the diploma engineers and links of credit transfer and joint education activities with renowned universities of the USA and Europe. In addition, I like to inform you that we are building a gracious complex for the UITS in our own land of more than one acre in Baridhara Nayanagar, Dhaka.

Q. Please tell us about your Convocation programme which is very urgent for the graduating students.

Sufi Mizan: Yes, we also give special priority to this matter. So far we have successfully organized two convocations for our graduates. In 2009 the First Convocation was held where the Chancellor of UITS was the then President of the country Mohammad Zillur Rahman and the Convocation Speaker was Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the then President of India. And the Second Convocation of the UITS was held in the month of March, 2014. In this Convocation the Chancellor of the University and the President of the country Mohammad Abdul Hamid was present and the Convocation Speaker was Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia.

We hope our university authority and Board of Trustees will always highlight the event of Convocation in the same way to come with high quality education

Q.   We know you are a  philanthropist, industrialist, international Rotarian leader and theosophist. Please tell us what was your dream in establishing UITS?

Sufi Mizan:  Thank you very much. I feel I am a humble but hardworking man since my early life. My dream behind establishing this university is to enrich our country with energetic and hardworking young generations by providing them modern professional education and higher ethical values who can serve well this country which earned its freedom with highest price of millions of martyrs. To fulfill my dream I have established other than this university many schools, institutes, organizations and societies which are working hard with divine blessings
