An allegation of attempted rape of a madrasa student of the third class has been filed against Masud Rana, the founder director of Sonara Rahima Noorani Academy Mahila Madrasah in Domar upazila of Nilphamari and son of deceased Manchur Ali of Dolapara area in Sonora. When the incident became known, the local people said that the area was scattered.

The students along with the residents of the area formed a human chain demanding exemplary punishment by arresting the founding director of the madrasa. The human chain was held in front of Sonora High School on Thursday (August 22) in the presence of residents and students. Hundreds of students were present along with local residents.

The speakers in the human chain said that Masud Rana, the founding director of the madrasa, shook the head of some female students of his madrasa and made a proposal. Masud Rana threatened another master of the madrasa so that the incident would not become public. Even before this, many students left the madrassa due to his misdeeds. Many demanded that he be brought under the law and punished and that no male teacher takes classes of female students.

The victim said that the master called her to her room to take classes at night. Then hugged from behind. After that, when the girl left the room together, two other students in that room put their hands on different parts of the body, the victim said. They said that Madrasa director Masud Rana had been involved in such misdeeds with some female students before.

Sonaray UP Chairman Feroze Chowdhury said, “I have heard the matter of Masud Rana, Director of Mahila Madrasah. Efforts are being made to resolve the matter with the two parties through the dignitaries of the area.
