Journalist rally and human chain program was held in Bagerhat to protest the attack and vandalism on media including East West Media Group. Journalists working in the district held this program in front of Bagerhat Press Club at 11 o’clock on Thursday (August 22).

Vice President of Bagerhat Press Club and Bagerhat Correspondent of Daily Kaler Kanth, Bishnu Prasad Chakraborty addressed the gathering, former president of Bagerhat Press Club, Bangladesh Daily Bagerhat Correspondent Sheikh Ahsanul Karim, General Secretary of Bagerhat Television Journalists Association Yamin Ali, Treasurer of Bagerhat Press Club Masudul Haque, Staff Reporter of Time TV Ali Akbar. Tutul, Ekushe Television’s Bagerhat correspondent HM Mainul Islam, Morelganj Press Club President Moshiur Rahman Masum, Banglanews24.com District Correspondent SS Shohan, Prothom Alo Bagerhat correspondent Inzamamul Haque.

The speakers said, the mass media is no one’s enemy. The media highlighted the inconsistency of the society in front of the people. Mass media is essential for the prosperity of the country and nation. Still, some overzealous people attacked the media and media workers. Bangladesh Pratid, Kaler Kanth, Daily Sun, BanglaNews24.com, News 24 TV, TSports Television and Radio Capitars of Sampruti East West Media Group have been attacked. Vehicles vandalized. We strongly condemn this attack. I demand that the attackers be brought under punishment.

Miscreants attacked the East West Media Group complex in Dhaka last Monday (August 19) at noon. The attackers vandalized Kale Kantha, Bangladesh Pratid, Daily Sun, BanglaNews24, News24 TV, T Sports and Radio Capital in the same compound.
