The 5250th Janmashtami festival of Lord Shri Krishna was celebrated in Chapainawabganj with due religious solemnity. On this occasion, a special discussion meeting was held on Monday (August 26) at 11:30 am in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.

Deputy Director of Chapainawabganj local government (Deputy Secretary) Debendra nath Uraon was also present as the chief guest in the event organized by Hindu Welfare Trust and district administration.

Milan Kumar Das, Assistant Project Director of Temple-based Children and Mass Education Program presided over the function. Srila Shyamkishore Das Goswami Maharaj, founder of Northern Bengal Vaishnav Sangha, District Puja Celebration Parishad President Dabul Kumar Ghosh, Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Parishad General Secretary Dilip Kumar Roy were present as special guests. Shriman Asharya Narottam Das of District ISKCON discussed the principles of Janmashtami as the main speaker in the program.

On the other hand, Chapainawabganj Srikrishna Janmashtami Celebration Committee organized a discussion meeting, colorful procession and award distribution in Shibatala Charjotpratap Thakurani Durga temple premises of the district town.
