Strict surveillance of BGB on Satkhira border: 7 raids in 15 days domestic, foreign weapons, jewelry, huge amount of drugs seized

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has continued strict vigilance in Satkhira and the border areas. Border security has been strengthened. The members of Satkhira BGB 33 battalion are constantly monitoring the border line to maintain law and order in the responsible area. In the last 15 days, BGB has conducted at least 7 operations at various points along the border. And in these raids, domestic and foreign weapons, bullets, magazines, silver jewelery and a large amount of drugs were seized by the BGB. Drugs include — lysergic acid di-ethylamide (LSD), crystal meth ice, heroin, alcohol and phencidyl.
Captain and Director of Satkhira BGB 33 Battalion Lt. Col. Md. Ashraful Haque (PBGM, PSC, G) said that from August 10 normal activities started in the border areas of the district under the overall supervision of Satkhira BGB 33 Battalion. On this occasion, an exchange meeting was held with the local honorable person.
According to the recent situation in the border townships of Satkhira district, with the aim of restoring order and increasing public confidence, the BGB border and border townships along with the border townships along with border areas have been strengthened and intelligence surveillance has been increased along with mobile and static patrolling. An emergency mobile service was launched in coordination with the nearest BOP and battalion for the assistance of BGB to prevent activities harmful to public safety at the border and border areas. As a result of such activities of the BGB, order and peace has returned to the border and border townships.
Satkhira BGB 33 Battalion Captain and Director Lt Col Md Ashraful Haque said, On the night of August 12, one pistol (domestic) and 8 rounds were recovered from the border area under the responsibility of Kushkhali BOP. The approximate value of which is eleven thousand six hundred taka. 9 kg 200 grams of Indian silver jewelery was seized from the border of the Madra BOP area of Satkhira in the afternoon of August 13. The estimated value of which is thirteen lakh fifty two thousand four hundred taka.
03 bottles (100 ml per bottle) of Indian lysergic acid di-methylamide (LSD) drugs were seized without the accused in an anti-narcotics operation at the border of Chanduria BOP in Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira district on the morning of August 17.
On the night of August 20, one kg of Indian crystal meth (ice) was seized in a special anti-narcotics operation from the responsible border area of Kakdanga BOP. The estimated seizure value of the seized drugs is Tk five crore . 2 kg of Indian heroin was seized in an anti-narcotics operation on the border of Kakdanga BOP in Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira district in the early hours of August 21. The estimated seizure value of the seized drugs is Tk 40 lakh.
On the night of August 22, 1 foreign pistol (made in USA), 3 rounds of bullets, 1 magazine and 1 kg of 995 grams of silver jewelery were seized from Vadiali border of Kakdanga BOP in Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira district. Md. Tariqul Islam (40), son of deceased Lutfar Rahman of South Bhadiali village of Kalaroa upazila, was arrested on charges of smuggling. Md. Abdul Ghaffar (45), son of deceased Abdul Aziz of East Bhadiali village, escaped. Kalaroa police station has 4 drug cases against arrested accused Tariqul Islam and 02 weapons cases against absconding accused Abdul Gaffar.
Then on the night of August 24, 252 bottles of Indian Phencidil and 51 bottles of liquor and 2 sharp Hasua (Da) were recovered from the border of Taluigacha BOP in Kalaroa Upazila of Satkhira District.
Satkhira BGB 33 Battalion Commander and Director Lt. Col. Md. Ashraful Haque said, BGB is serving its duties as an independent guard of the border to eliminate drugs, terrorism, smuggling and smuggling.
