15day long plantation campaign inagurated in Sylhet

15-day long tree plantation campaign and tree fair 2024 inagurated at Sylhet alia madrasa ground on Saturday.

collaboration with the district administration and Sylhet Forest Department in front of the motto “Sortify the country with trees, enrich Bangladesh”,

Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Abu Ahmad Siddiqui NDC attend the inaguration ceremony as a chief guest.

He said this speech as chief guest, trees are our true friends. None of us will survive if carbon dioxide rises. But trees save us by providing oxygen. Sujala Sufla Today’s students will lead this country in the future and they will build a new country of their dreams.

There are no trees in the desert but our Sujla-Sufla country is decorated with various trees. It is the contribution of the great Creator. It is the responsibility of all of us to build a beautiful country with quality living by planting more trees with importance on this contribution.

Paying deep respect to all the martyrs in the anti-discrimination student movement, he said, students have shown with their fingers, how to love the country, how to protest injustice and establish good governance. This contribution of the students is spreading to the world today and is being seen by the world today.

Those who do not have any organization, love the country and succeeded in the anti-discrimination movement, and handed over the responsibility of making the country beautiful. We who are involved in the governance of the state, need to rethink. What the new generation wants from us! A country to help, a country to serve and help all citizens as needed. So government officials have to change and this change has to be us (government officials) ourselves.

This must be so that no citizen comes to us for work and returns empty-handed. If we can’t entertain! But let’s talk to the servants with a smile. People from remote areas do not dare to sit in government office chairs or do not want to sit with respect. We often look down on them. It is the moral responsibility of all government officials to take care of such matters and serve them with respect. The new generation of students have pointed out these inequalities.

These must be changed. Chief advisor. Quoting Yunus, he said, all injustice and oppression must come out. Developed countries including Europe and America are not far away from today’s new generation. They are accessing government services in developed countries with the help of smart phones. So we have to build the country according to the expectations and consciousness of the students.
Sylhet Divisional Forest Officer Humayun Kabir gave a welcome address in the opening ceremony.

Acting Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Subarna Sarkar presided over the meeting.
Sylhet Police Superintendent Mahbub Rahman, Sylhet Range DIG Zedan Al Musa, Sylhet Metropolitan Police DC North Jabedur Rahman spoke as special guests.
Government officials from various departments, tree lovers, and students were also present.

On the occasion of tree plantation drive and tree fair, a colorful rally took place in front of Sylhet District Stadium at 11 am and concluded at the fair premises and the fair was inaugurated by the Divisional Commissioner. In the opening ceremony, saplings were given to each student and the guests visited the stalls participating in the fair.

The guests presented checks as national awards to the nursery category and nursery entrepreneurs for their special contribution in tree plantation. Sylhet Nursery Owners Welfare Association also supports the service of the fair. It will be open to the public from 9 am to 9 pm every day. The fair will continue till September 14.
