At least two madrasa students drowned while picking flowers in Kishoreganj’s Pakundia on Friday afternoon. The incident took place at Charartekia in Charfaradi Union of Pakundia upazila

The deceased have been identified as Tamhid (10) son of Md.Ujjal Mia of Charkaona Madhyapara village and Abdullah (9) son of Asad Mia of Chararttekia village in Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj. The two deceased students of Charkaona Riazul Jannat Hafizia Qaumi Madrasa in Pakundia.

Locals saids , those two students and many others of the same age were playing football in the Charkaona school field on Friday afternoon.

After the game they go to Madhua bath for extra heat. At one point they went ahead to pick up the flowers from the sink. At that time a total of three people including two of them went forward to pick flowers, one of them knew how to swim but two of them drowned in the water.

Seeing that, the others on the banks of the pond shouted, the locals came forward and rescued the three of them. At that time, Tamhid died on the spot. Abdullah also died on the way to the Upazila Health Complex.

Charfaradi Union Parishad ( UP) Chairman Abdul Mannan said that, the two madrasa students died after drowning.Expressed deep shocked.
