19 bottles of liquor found in truck returning to India in Bhomra, two arrested

In Satkhira BGB operation, 19 bottles of Indian liquor with 1 Bangladeshi truck and two people were arrested. The arrested are — truck driver Gautam Dey, son of Nani Gopal Dey of East Maijpara village of Dasar police station of Madaripur district, assistant truck driver Mohammad Al-Amin, son of Ayyub Ali Bepari of East Chiraipara village of the same district Sadar. They were detained along with the truck (number Dhaka Metto T-162082). BGB said that they were secretly bringing different types of liquor from India in that truck.
The BGB said that Gautam Dey and Al-Amin were detained along with various types of Indian liquor and Bangladeshi trucks from the Bhomra land port check post in Satkhira at around 9 am on Tuesday (September 10).
Satkhira Battalion (33 BGB) captain Lt. Col. Md. Ashraful Haque said that around 9 am on September 10, a special raiding team of Satkhira Battalion (33 BGB) conducted an anti-smuggling operation and seized 1 Bangladeshi truck with 19 bottles of various types of liquor.
He said according to the intelligence information, based on the news that drugs will be smuggled from India to Bangladesh through Bhomra land port, a raiding team led by Bhomra BOP’s Sub Md. Zahirul Islam in the check post area of Bhomra land port, 1 empty truck of Baisakhi Traders (export goods left at Gojadanga land port in India) When Bhomra arrived in Bangladesh through the check post, the truck was searched and 19 bottles of Indian liquor of various kinds were recovered. At that time, the driver of the truck, Gautam Dey, and the assistant driver, Mohammad Al-Amin, were arrested for smuggling illegal drugs.
A case has been filed against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Act at Satkhira Sadar Police Station.
