Mizanur Rahman Mizan, a leader of the volunteer group, was hacked to death in Sadar Upazila of Bogura at around 9 pm on Monday.

The incident took place in front of the Gokul Union Parishad of Sadar Upazila.

The deceased is the son of Afsar Ali of Gokul Union of Mizan Sadar Upazila.According to local sources, 6-7 people including Mijan were hanging out in front of Gokul Union Parishad when 8-10 miscreants stopped the motorcycle and attacked them with sharp weapons during the power outage and fled from the scene.

Later, the locals rescued Mizan and took him to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Meanwhile, Mizan’s supporters attacked and stabbed Ledoux, alleging that a large group was involved in the attack on Mizan. When the police rescued Ledu in a critical condition and took him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, Mizan’s supporters beat him up again. Ledu died at the hospital around 11 pm. Ledu is a supporter of Gokul Union Youth Dal’s suspended president Vipul.

OC of Sadar Police Station Saihan Aliullah said that the police visited the scene after the incident. The reason behind the incident is being investigated. Mizan’s body was handed over to the family after postmortem.
