Adomong Marma, Chairman of Bangalhalia Union Parishad (UP) of the upazila, has been rescued 23 days after he went missing in Rangamati Rajasthali.

He was rescued in a special operation by the army on Tuesday evening. Before this, Adomang Marma disappeared on August 25.

It is learnt that on the morning of the disappearance, Bangalhalia UP Chairman Adomang went to collect the honorarium from the Sonali Bank branch of Rajasthali Upazila Sadar. He was abducted by a group of unknown terrorists on his way home that afternoon. As his whereabouts were not found, his family reported the matter to the Bangalhalia army camp at night. The next day, on August 26, a general diary was made at the Chandraghona police station in Kaptai regarding UP Chairman Adomang’s disappearance.

According to family and security forces sources, the kidnappers have been calling Adomong’s wife and family members from different mobile phone numbers ever since he went missing, demanding ransom. When the matter was reported to the local law and order forces, the law and order forces carried out extensive activities with the help of modern information technology to identify the location of the abductors.

Realizing this, the abductors transferred the kidnapped person to different places at different times. At one point on Tuesday afternoon, a team of Kaptai zone of the army went there and took a covert position as it was confirmed that a group of terrorists involved in the Adomang abduction would travel to the Gaindhya Union area of Rajasthali.

At that time, when the terrorists sensed the presence of the army, the abducted AdoMong fled with his hands and feet tied. Later, the army rescued Adomong from there and handed him over to his family after preliminary interrogation.

In this regard, Iqbal Hossain, OC of Rajasthali Police Station said, I heard that the missing UP Chairman Adomong Marma was rescued by the army members of Rajasthali Sub Zone. However, it is not possible to confirm who or who is involved in his abduction.
